The Victoria Horticultural Society will meet on June 4, 2024, from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. at the Garth Homer Centre (813 Darwin Ave). Our speaker is Bryan Emery. He will offer a workshop at 6:30 pm demonstrating how to get orchids to rebloom. At 8:00 pm he will speak on the topic “All about Pelargoniums.” He will address their history and culture, including species, hybrids and cultivars. Bryan is the proprietor of a local nursery “Bryan’s Specialty Plants,” where he grows orchids, cacti, succulents, alpines, bog plants and unusual perennials. He is active in exhibiting entries in Cacti and Succulent societies, the Vancouver Island Rock and Alpine Society and the Victoria Lily Society, where he won the 2023 Show Grand Prize.
